This research examines the impact of firm capital structure and liquidity on the financial performance of sugar and cement sector firms in Pakistan. The study used the secondary data of 30 firms randomly selected for the period 2005 to 2017. The data was analyzed through statistical tools like correlation and regression. The results revealed that the capital structure proxies have a negative correlation with financial performance proxies of these sector firms. The results indicated that debts to equity ratio and the fund capital ratio has a negative insignificant impact however the debts ratio and Funded debts ratio were found having a negative significant impact on the financial proxies of these selected firms. The results indicated a positive correlation of the liquidity with the financial performance of these firms. The results demonstrating positive effect of current and quick ratios on the financial performance proxies of these firms. The study has some meaningful insights for the financial managers and decision makers of these firms

Kinematic and Dynamic Analysis of the 2-DOF Spherical Wrist of Orthoglide 5-axis

This paper deals with the kinematics and dynamics of a two degree of freedom spherical manipulator, the wrist of Orthoglide 5-axis. The latter is a parallel kinematics machine composed of two manipulators: i) the Orthoglide 3-axis; a three-dof translational parallel manipulator that belongs to the family of Delta robots, and ii) the Agile eye; a two-dof parallel spherical wrist. The geometric and inertial parameters used in the model are determined by means of a CAD software. The performance of the spherical wrist is emphasized by means of several test trajectories. The effects of machining and/or cutting forces and the length of the cutting tool on the dynamic performance of the wrist are also analyzed. Finally, a preliminary selection of the motors is proposed from the velocities and torques required by the actuators to carry out the test trajectories

Pattern of mental health disorders in adult population attending a tertiary mental health care setting

    Get PDF
Mental health disorders contribute significantly to the global burden of disease (32.4%), . Mental health disorders are the 4th leading cause of disability in developed countries, and the most disabling disorders in low-income and middle-income countries (LAMIC). Over one third of people in most LIMIC fulfill sufficient diagnostic criteria for a mental health disorder at some point in their life

GENERALIZED DERIVATIONS IN RINGS ON LIE IDEALS WITH BANACH ALGEBRAS

Let R be a prime ring of characteristic dierent from 2, L a non-central Lie ideal of R, and m; n xed positive integers. If R admits a generalized derivation F associated with a deviation d such that  F(u)2)m -(F(u))2n  ϵZ(R) for all u Ïµ L, then R satises S4 , the standard identity in four variables. Moreover, we also examine the case when R is semiprime ring. Finally, as an application we obtain some range inclusion results of continuous or spectrallybounded generalized derivations on Banach algebras

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial potential of transition metal complexes of triacetic lactone

Seven novel and biological active transition metal complexes were prepared using 3-nitro- 4-hydroxy -6-methyl-pyran-2-one derivative of triacetic lactone as ligand. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurement, UV/Vis, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy. These data showed that solid complexes of Ni (II), Co (II), Mn (II), Zn (II) and Fe (II) indicated octahedral geometries while Cu (II) complex was assigned square planar geometry. The antimicrobial activities ofall above mentioned complexes along with ligand were tested against eleven different bacterial strains and ten fungal strains using agar well diffusion assay. Cu (II) complex showed highest inhibition zone against Shigella dysentriae (22.3 mm), greater than standard drug, while the Zn (II) complex showed maximum antifungal activity against Trichophyton simii (18.7 mm). The antimicrobial activities indicated that metal complexes showed enhanced activity as compared to the free ligand

International audienceThis paper deals with the kinematic and dynamic analyses of the Orthoglide 5-axis, a five-degree-of-freedom manipulator. It is derived from two manipulators: i) the Orthoglide 3-axis; a three dof translational manipulator and ii) the Agile eye; a parallel spherical wrist. First, the kinematic and dynamic models of the Orthoglide 5-axis are developed. The geometric and inertial parameters of the manipulator are determined by means of a CAD software. Then, the required motors performances are evaluated for some test trajectories. Finally, the motors are selected in the catalogue from the previous results
